your rope strung across cracks in the world,

our tales up-hurled

from far below.

Magician in amber

and umber

and blue,

your fourth dimension

like a cloak about you.

Translator of languages unwrought,

unthought;

your tongue a pigment-taster,

truth-chaser.

Far-flying spirit in a coat of bark,

your resin ekes out

trapping human moments

for many evers.

And you do it because you must:

because life thrust a prism under your eyelids

and a tightrope under your feet.
